IMTI and many other organizations sponsor events year round that serve to drive manufacturing technology forward. Descriptions of key events follow.

Radical Innovation in Design and Manufacturing Workshop

The Department of Defense and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration will host a national leadership forum on October 27 and 28, 2009. The forum's purpose is to evaluate present best practices in putting innovation to work. We will also seek methods and a clear understanding of ways to accelerate the innovation process in producing new and exciting products, quickly and affordably.

DMC '09

The 2009 Defense Manufacturing Conference (DMC '09) will be held Nov. 30–Dec. at Hilton Orlando, Orlando, Florida. It will be held in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Advanced Systems and Concepts, the Military Departments, the Defense Logistics Agency, the Missile Defense Agency and the Joint Defense Manufacturing Technology Panel.

The conference theme is “Government Industry Leadership for Affordable Defense Systems.” The agenda is structured to bring together over 1000 leaders and technical specialists from government, industry and academia to exchange perspectives and information about the DoD Manufacturing Technology program, industrial base initiatives and related DoD transformation initiatives.
